Greek Foreign Ministry Spokesman Grigoris Delavekouras denounced bloodshed taking place in Syria, especially after a woman of Greek descent was killed in Aleppo.
“A few days ago, Marinet Sehuaro of Greek origin was killed near Aleppo. Mrs. Sehuaro was born in Syria and her deceased husband was a Greek Orthodox priest in the area. The late woman lost her life due to a shooting incident while she was returning home along with her family from a wedding ceremony. We express our deepest sympathy for the loss of Mrs. Sehuaro Marinet to both her family and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Aleppo,” stated Delavekouras.
“Once again,” added Delavekouras, “we denounce bloodshed in Syria and stress the pressing need to protect the Syrian people, including minorities living in the country, who are jeopardizing their life due to the incessant violence that threatens citizens.”
