Greek Woman Killed in Crossfire in Aleppo, Syria

Greek Foreign Ministry Spokesman Grigoris Delavekouras denounced bloodshed taking place in Syria, especially after a woman of Greek descent was killed in Aleppo.

“A few days ago, Marinet Sehuaro of Greek origin was killed near Aleppo. Mrs. Sehuaro was born in Syria and her deceased husband was a Greek Orthodox priest in the area. The late woman lost her life due to a shooting incident while she was returning home along with her family from a wedding ceremony. We express our deepest sympathy for the loss of Mrs. Sehuaro Marinet to both her family and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Aleppo,” stated Delavekouras.

“Once again,” added Delavekouras, “we denounce bloodshed in Syria and stress the pressing need to protect the Syrian people, including minorities living in the country, who are jeopardizing their life due to the incessant violence that threatens citizens.”

As I said in another comment Syria has a very diverse population in terms of religions and ethnicities. The Assad regime had done good job in protecting the rights of these minorities. According to the current Syria’s constitution the country has no formal religion!

Can you imagine that? In an Arab country? Even Greece has a constitutional formal religion. Syria does not!

So its perfectly natural that all these minorities support Assad. And the Sunni fanatics opposition, backed up by Saudi Arabia (that developed the monster of Bin Laden, that forbids women rights, that forbids the existence of christian churches on its soil), Jordan and UAE are attacking these populations that preexisted Arabs or the Muslim faith in that area.

If the opposition prevails we will probably see mass killings against the Christian, Alevites and Kurdish population of the country. In Egypt where the Muslim brotherhood has now prevailed Christians are getting constantly terrorized and killed.

We can also have a taste of what happened in Tunisia. Search in youtube for the video where a muslim decapitates a fellow Tunisian for getting baptisized if you have the nerve to watch it.

I had enough for this Arab spring. It’s actually a muslim fanatics spring.

And what is the role of the US and the west in general here? OK we should help get rid of dictators like Assad, Gantaffi, Mumbarak (our old best friend). But then what? Replace them with who? Another fanatics? Maybe worst fanatics?

Where are the values of the US? They just exchange some oil and gas contracts with their values? Or maybe the US want to appeaze muslim fanatics all over the world after the recent wars against muslim countries (now that Bin Laden and Al Qaeda are rather history)?
