Military exercise “Demetra 2012” wraps up successfully

The annual military exercise “Demetra 2012” that took place throughout the free areas of Cyprus, with the participation of all National Guard branches, was concluded on Sunday with success.

According to an official announcement, the military exercise, that resumed last Thursday, was coordinated by the National Guard General Staff, proving the good level of preparedness among reserves and National Guard personnel concerning both their mobilization and the execution of tasks.

It is added that Defence Minister Demetris Eliades, accompanied by the Chief of National Guard Stylianos Nasis, visited various National Guard units during the military exercise, and was briefed on the execution progress of its various stages.

    My understanding is that the coordination of the National Guard is basically done by Israelis.
